Position Overview:

The Human Resources/Accounting Assistant will initially be part time and be responsible for providing support within all areas of human resources. Additional responsibilities include processing weekly payroll via our payroll provider as well as time and attendance tracking for all associates at the Bloomingdale plant. Our goal is to develop your skill sets and transition you to full time in about two years.  Additional duties include:

  • Accountable for all HR related record keeping and documentation processes including compliance with requirements of FMLA/LOA, Workers Compensation, ADA Compliance, COBRA, I-9 documentation and maintaining the OSHA log
  • Serve as a primary HR contact for S&S associates for the purposes of answering questions and researching HR related issues and concerns
  • Support the Accounting/Human Resources Manager with costing, invoicing, quoting and journal entries
  • Assist in recruitment efforts
  • Schedule and conduct new hire orientation sessions.
  • Responsible for maintaining master associate attendance records and providing periodic reports as required.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of an Associate Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Human Resources
  • 2 years' previous experience in Human Resources, Accounting or Office Administration
  • Knowledge of HR operations, processes and best practices
  • Computer skills, especially knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulatory requirements
  • Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well as part of a team as well as provide and receive feedback
  • High professional standards regarding customer service, integrity, and confidentiality

 

We maintain a business casual environment and offer a very flexible part time schedule of 15 to 20 hours per week, excellent hourly rate, paid holidays and vacation.
